Makeup Dragonfly (I)

I know I haven't posted in a loong, long time, but I'm back for good. Actually, I don't have a good excuse for being gone. Yes, I've been travelling, and yes I've been busy with exams, but really, I've been a bit lazy when it comes to blogger stuff. And not only have I been lazy when it comes to updating, but also I haven't been commenting on blogs like I used to. But I promise, I've been reading every post as usual. 

What I have been doing however, is watching a lot of beauty related videos on youtube. And I have to say, it's my new addiction, all thanks to the beauty gurus there, who deserve a post of their own which will be coming up soon. 

"So", I thought. "Why not turn Purple Dragonfly into Beauty Dragonfly? Of course my blog wont be only about makeup from now on, lets say it's just a new section in it. And I wont be making reviews, not for now at least. That I leave to my favorite beauty gurus, they're amazing at it.

When I started to think what I wanted to post I thought about this collage, since I know many people don't read all the text in blogs (sometimes I don't myself, especially if you follow like a thousand blogs).

Se que no he actualizado en mucho, muchísimo tiempo, pero vuelvo de verdad. De hecho, no tengo una buena excusa para haber desaparecido. Sí, he estado viajando, y sí, he estado ocupada con exámenes, pero en realidad he estado un poco vaga en cuanto a temas de blogger. Y no solo he sido vaga a la hora de actualizar, sino que tampoco he estado comentando en tantos blogs como solía. Pero lo prometo, he estado leyendo cada post como siempre.
Lo que sí he estado haciendo es ver un montón de videos de belleza en youtube. Y tengo que decir que es mi nueva adicción, gracias a las gurus allí, que merecen un post para ellas solas que escribiré no dentro de mucho. 
Entonces pensé,  "por qué no transformar Purple Dragonfly en Beauty Dragonfly? Por supuesto mi blog no va a tratar solo de maquillaje a partir de ahora, vamos a decir que es solo una nueva sección en él. Y no voy a hacer reviews (lo que viene a ser probar productos y decir qué pienso de ellos), al menos por ahora. Eso se lo dejo a mis youtubers preferidas, que lo hacen muy bien.
Cuando empecé a pensar en qué quería escribir pensé en este collage, ya que se que mucha gente no se lee los textos de los blogs (a veces yo tampoco, sobre todo si uno sigue mil blogs diferentes).

Since I sent my Blackberry to get fixed the other day and I'm stuck with the old one (why do they such a long time, by the way?) I can't help but notice how much I miss my phone and how much I use it everyday (probably too much). However, I'm clearly not the only one. Have you noticed in how many fashion pictures smartphones seem the focus of attention?

Desde que mande mi Blackberry a arreglar el otro día y no tengo más remedio que utilizar la antigua (¿por qué tardan tantísimo tiempo en arreglarlas, por cierto?) no he podido evitar darme cuenta de cuanto echo de menos mi teléfono y cuanto lo uso (seguramente demasiado). Sin embargo, claramente no soy la única. ¿Os habéis fijado en cuantas fotos de moda los teléfonos parecen ser el centro de atención?

Maybe I'm outdated if I'm posting this now, but I was looking through old fashion shows and I loved the Temperley London 2011 Ready-to-wear one. The words style.com used to describe it, "grown-up" and "polished" are perfect to describe the collection.

A lo mejor estoy pasada de moda si publico esto ahora, pero estaba mirando colecciones antiguas y me ha encantado la de Temperley London 2011 Ready-to-wear. Las palabras que style.com utiliza para describirlas "adulto" y "pulido" son perfectos para describir la colección.

It's Kate Moss and Mario Testino once again

Today is one of those days I'd like to hide under the sheets of my bed, or even better, get a plane to go anywhere nice, but far far away. There's two tough weeks ahead of me, and I wish I could just disappear. On the bright side, not everything is awful, there's a few things I'm looking forward to. For now I'll just have to stop worrying, and I guess we'll deal with what tomorrow brings tomorrow. Here are some pictures of Kate Moss, most of them by Mario Testino, maybe even all of them. It's not the first time I've posted about her, but I think these shots are so beautiful.

Hoy es uno de esos días que me gustaría esconderme bajo las sábanas de mi cama, o mejor aún, coger un avión e irme a algún sitio bonito, pero muy muy lejos. Las próximas dos semanas van a ser duras, me gustaría simplemente desaparecer. Mirando el lado bueno no todo es tan terrible, hay una par de cosas esta semana bastante apetecibles. Por ahora voy a dejar de preocuparme, y supongo que nos encargaremos de lo que el mañana traiga mañana. Aquí os dejo unas fotos de Kate Moss, la mayoría obra de Mario Testino, incluso a lo mejor todas ellas. No es la primera vez que hago un post sobre ella, pero las fotografías me parecen preciosas.
